BAPTISMS
In Olmsted Community Church, along with the general practice of the United Church of Christ people are baptized either as children or adults. Baptism with water and the Holy Spirit is the mark of their acceptance into the care of Christ’s church, the sign and seal of their participation in God’s forgiveness, and the beginning of their new growth into full Christian faith and life. There is no cost for Baptisms. These are performed for our members as part of our Christian service.
WEDDINGS
On behalf of our church family here at Olmsted Community Church, we rejoice with you in your wedding. It is always our practice to encourage people to celebrate their wedding in a Church where you as a couple worship regularly, and where you plan to locate yourselves as your spiritual community of faith. If Olmsted Community Church is this place for you, or you are actively willing to participate in our community of faith, then we would be glad to celebrate your wedding as part of our ministry.
The first step is to call the Church Office and check the date for your
ceremony then make arrangements to speak to the Pastor. All weddings need to be confirmed by the pastor. Although, the church calendar may be open for a specific day, it may not always be possible for the Pastor to be available. Please try to make your arrangements for the Church before making other commitments.

Your Wedding
In the Christian Community, death is an experience that touches the life of the entire family of faith. When a death occurs, the immediate family is encouraged to notify the church as soon as possible and to share fully in planning the funeral service. Family members are always encouraged to participate in the service. Sensitive consideration is always given to family traditions and the particular circumstances of the bereaved.
The worship service serves to recognize both the pain and sorrow of the separation accompanying death, as well as the hope and joy of the promises of God to those who die and are raised in Jesus Christ. The service celebrates the life of the deceased, gives thanks for the life that was lived, and commends this life to God. The purpose of the worship service is to affirm the powerful steadfast love of God which we know in Christ, from which we know that we cannot be separated, even by death. Please contact us for more information.
