SUNDAY MORNING EDUCATION CLASSESWe provide education classes for 3 year olds thru 7th grade during our 10:00 AM worship service. Children go to church with their parents and then leave after the "Time with the Children" program. The curriculum we use for these classes is the Seasons of the Spirit. It is Biblically sound, educationally effective and developed to provide a variety of activities geared to meet the learning needs of all children. It helps build a strong faith foundation. Child care is provided in the nursery for those under three. For parents who wish to keep their little ones with them, there is also a "Quiet Room" overlooking the sanctuary if your child becomes fussy. The number one place children grow in their faith is still at home and we work in partnership with families in this learning process, by providing resources to encourage discussion and to reinforce what has been learned in the classroom. For more information on our Children's Sunday School, please contact Nicki Behr.CONFIRMATIONOur confirmation program is a two-year program for 7th and 8th graders. This program prepares the student for the Rite of Confirmation and the beginning of full membership and participation in the church. The student is expected to attend Sunday morning instruction, Bible study, Mission Activities and weekly worship services. These components work together providing a comprehensive experience that prepares the Confirmand both intellectually and spiritually for this important step in their faith development. Seventh grade students meeting during Sunday school hour to focus on Biblical literacy. The 8th grade students meet at 9am for extended faith formation. For more information on our confirmation program contact Nicki Behr.POST CONFIRMATION AND ADULT EDUCATIONOur post confirmation/adult education class meets at 9:00 am on Sunday morning.
WEEKDAY ADULT CLASSESPastor Ron Dauphin leads a lively study on Tuesday afternoons at 1:00 pm with focus on the lectionary reading for the following Sunday. These readings taken from the Revised Common Lectionary include a reading from the Hebrew Bible, a Psalm, a reading from the Epistles, and a Gospel reading.
There are presently two women’s Bible studies; one on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm and Thursday mornings at 10:00 am. Studies of the Bible through modern books by Christian writers are chosen by the group.
Short term Bible study groups are also available. Check the church for current Bible study groups. NEW MEMBER CLASSESNew member orientation is designed to instruct potential members in understanding what our church believes, how it is governed and opportunities for service. Orientation is several times a year after the 10:00 am worship service. Each new member is assigned a sponsor to guide and support them during the first year of membership. For more information and a schedule of new member luncheons, please contact the Church Office at (440) 235-3326. |
